Ellen Boynton
Office Administrator
I have been a member at BCUC for more than 50 years and worked in the office for almost 23 years now, so feel very much part of the 'BCUC family'. The church has nurtured my children as they grew up here and they continue to feel welcome when visiting, as well as my grandchildren who sometimes join us for Sunday worship.
Although well past the typical retirement age, I still look forward to coming to work the Wednesday-Friday part of the week. A jobshare arrangement enables me to have time for other interests as well as for travel with husband, Bob. I enjoy meeting and helping people, never knowing what the next phone call or visitor to come into the office will bring, assisting other staff members with their work and the special feeling that working in a church gives me.
I also sing in the Choir, something I have enjoyed ever since joining the church in 1969. I am active in Committee work and a unit leader in UCW. Bob and I also coordinate the Spring Garage Sale which gives the community a chance to visit the church informally. Having the support of the church and being able to support it are sources of great satisfaction for me.
